Josh + Amanda
Ballroom Wedding
June 11th, 2022
“I promise you everyday as we grow older I’m going to kiss you longer, hold you tighter, and love you deeper.”
The story of Josh and Amanda’s wedding is told throughout each scene. Their wedding takes place at Greysolon Duluth MN on a moody but beautiful day. This video captures all of the moments from getting ready with their wedding party, through first look, ceremony, and reception afterwards.
What never ceases to amazing me are the love filled words spoken to each other. Josh and Amanda’s vows are so precious and beautiful, and is what really knit the entire video together.
The officiant said it perfectly, “They are in a class of their own.”
Meet The Couple
HOW DID YOU GUYS MEET?
We met in physics class at St Cloud State University. Amanda sat in the front row and I sat in the back. She was beautiful, when she walked in the room it was LIFE CHANGING. Her laugh was heartwarming and her smile was heart stopping.
WHY DO YOU WANT US TO CAPTURE YOUR WEDDING DAY?
I want you to let the camera roll! Interactions with family and friends. But most importantly us with each other. Amanda and I are definitely outgoing and happy people. We have been through a lot together and have learned to focus on the happiness life brings, even when things are out of our control. We try and share that happiness and I hope its something that will show on film 🙂
TELL US ABOUT THE PROPOSAL (EVERY DETAIL)
I saved for a whole year, and brought Amanda by the wedding ring store “just for fun.” Amanda tried on a few and found one that was perfect for her. I took a picture of it and called them the next day. Left work early and drove to the store (it was an hour away). I saved that ring for 6 months. We planned a trip to St Pete Beach after Amanda got through her first year in medical school. I carried it in my pocket the whole trip.
One night, we planned a fire on the beach after dinner. We bought this little portable beach fire that comes in a can from Shark Tank (one of our favorite shows). I knew it was the night. I called her Dad and her Step dad To let them know it was going to happen. No answer!! Amanda’s Dad had given me his blessing already, but her step dad and I never had a good chat about it, sorry Theron!!
We had the fire going and I knew the time was right.
I stood Amanda up, and told her how much I loved her, how special she was to me, and how I never wanted to be with anyone else.
I got down on one knee and said “Will you marry me?” She said yes!!! She told me she suspected I was up to something because I was acting so funny lol. We kissed and cuddled for hours on the beach and took pictures together.
WHEN YOU’RE NOT IN FULL WEDDING MODE, WHAT DO YOU DO?
Amanda and I are grinders!! We both work hard and play hard. When she isn’t being a doctor and I am not being an engineer, we are walking, playing, cuddling, and spoiling our lil baby dog Leo. Leo is our rescue doggo that we adopted in Lewisburg. He changed our lives and we love the lil dude.
When we aren’t hanging with Leo, we are working out when we can, watching our favorite shows, This is Us, Stranger things, Ozark, Breaking Bad. You know, only high quality shows!! We both love to go out to dinner, go to concerts, mostly Hip Hop, rap, and Rock shows. Spend time with our family! Living in West Virginia for four years made time with family so much more important than it already was. We love our families and try to spend as much time as we can with them now that we are back in MN.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE GREYSOLON BALLROOM FOR YOUR WEDDING VENUE?
Funny story lol. At the time, we didn’t know where we would be living. Amanda had to match into a program and had very little control over where she lived. We knew we had to have it in MN because we wanted our family and friends to be there! We looked all over the state and found the Greysolon Ballroom in Duluth. Its beautiful! Perfect on the inside, has the lake outside. Great food and drinks, it checked all the boxes for us! Now we have a place to come every year and celebrate our love together.
TELL ME ABOUT YOUR VISION FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY ITSELF.
Can you ask Amanda this one specifically? I picture classic, simple, and fun. Nothing too fabricated. Amanda’s dress will be gorgeous as she has the best taste. She picked all the lights and decor so that will be beautiful as well. I am more focused on the love and happiness that we will be sharing with eachother and everyone. A day where everyone gets to FINALLY be together. After covid and the world being insane, we get to hide from our problems and enjoy life. Laugh love and just be happy.
IS THERE A HONEYMOON PLANNED?
Yes we are going to Lake Tahoe and then spending a week in Santa Barbara CA. Leo is coming of course.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELVES IN 10 YEARS TIME?
I see myself driving our kids to school. Jamming to music that I force them to love, Amanda smiling Watching me sing loud while they cringe at thier weird dad. Don’t need a big house but Amanda can afford it, she earned it shes a doctor!!! Do need a big yard for our doggo though. In 10 years we will be spending as much time as we can with our family members. We love them and everyday is a blessing. Oh and if its 10 years to the day? I’ll be forcing her to watch our wedding video again, she will love it just like she did the year before. I’ll probably be making her popcorn on the stove before it starts. Listening to a joke my dad makes on the camera, or a funny voice her stepdad makes.
